Highest Adsense Day, A Few Clickbank Sales and Writing Reviews

This post doesn’t really have a main point, but first I wanted to celebrate getting my highest Adsense day on Wednesday:

This is in British Pounds and works out at around $14 USD (I cut out all the clickthrough rate info etc from that image). I know it’s not huge, but it’s the highest I’ve had to date. Earlier in the month I’d also reached a new high which was £8.81. It’s always good to know things are going upwards, though my Adsense does fluctate a lot. Still a few days out of every month I fail to even reach £1.00.

My Clickbank has also picked up a little, making around one sale a week. Here’s what it looks like right now:

Again, not fantastic but better than a couple of months ago. I have decided I don’t really want to focus on Clickbank though (I’m already very picky about the products I promote there – some look like complete junk to me), so my next sites (whenever I get round to them), will probably be based on Amazon.

Trying to Put Together the Perfect Amazon Reviews

Although I haven’t started any new batches of sites (I don’t want to leave things unfinished as I always seem to!) I do have this hot product site that I keep talking about. I am adding blog posts to it etc but I want to have one real main review on it to which I will build links.

I want to create a review as in depth as possible. I’m kind of fed up of the whole mindset of building crap to get people to click on Adsense ads because they’re desperate to get away from your site (like I’ve said before). Instead, I want to do a lot of research, write a review that beats all others in there, and leave the visitor clicking on my Amazon link to buy.

So I’m using the Amazon information, the Amazon reviews, and the manufacturer’s website to write about the main features of the product. But I’ll also look into it in a bit more detail, finding out what people are looking for in this type of product, and how the specific product I’m reviewing matches up with expectations and so on. I know it’s going to be time consuming, but it’ll be a very long review and hopefully very trustworthy. I’m also hoping it’ll help with traffic from long-tail keywords.

So writing that review is my plan for now! And I’m also going to check out the Info Product Killer updates (by the way, the price of IPK is going up from $37 to $77 later today, so if you want it, get it now).

Congrats on your Adsense earnings for one day. Looks like a good day to me – it took me one month to earn $9. :)

Deanna – Thanks :) Believe me it took me months and months to finally reach the payout each month as I do now. Hopefully the trend will keep going upwards!

Thats some good figures! I have had a couple of days with $40 when I got a traffic surge after being on the Yahoo.com homepage but apart from that I have had one just over $10 and a few around $6-$7.

Bristolboy – $40 days sound good! At least that shows what’s possible!

Also interestingly since beginning of June by earnings have been rather consistent; they haven’t dipped below $1 once!

Bristolboy – Mine have :( Mine are so up and down, I’m not sure why. I think it’s because a few of my sites are only ranked for some obscure long tail keywords so their traffic is very up and down.

Congrats Ruth. Nice that you’re making at least 1 sale a week. Perhaps you should test with another product and see if it converts more.

    Or increase traffic ;)

Moon – I think it’s traffic that’s the problem :( Once I get more traffic, I’ll keep a very close eye on those conversion rates.

That’s great that your AdSense earnings keep in climbing, and good job on the Clickbank sales as well. It’s always nice to see figures in all your weekly earning boxes! :)

Ruth, these days are always special…. It happens once, then becomes the norm, then you get another random highest day and off it goes again… My record day is around $270 but I usually get between $40-$50 a day these days.

However it was only last year I was averaging $15 a day.

Congrats on your Adsense milestone! I always like seeing earnings posted – it’s encouraging, especially for those who, lets just say, didn’t do quite as well.

Gil – Thanks and just remember it can be slow going, but at least now I’m getting that Adsense payout each month for work I did last year.

  8. Congrats and best of luck and may your earnings rise each day. One thing is for sure, hard work really pays off.

I totally agree about clickbank, some of that stuff is pure trash. I have used clickbank on a couple sites but I don’t think I’ve ever made a single sell. I think one sell a day is a great start. And grats on your ad6ense earnings as well, breaking the $10 a day is awesome!

Witchie – Yeah you have to be careful what you promote. I am probably done creating Clickbank sites now, I definitely think Amazon is a lot more trustworthy.

Congratulations on your adsense earnings. I also have a blog where I am tracking my goals and earnings and wanted to check out some others that are doing the same thing as me as it both helpful and motivating. Looking forward to following you.

    Hi Ruth!

At least you’re having a sale a week on clickbank, mine stats are just 1-2 sales a month. Infoproducts are not as good converters as physical products

  12. Great results Ruth. I have a long way to go to match that, particularly with Clickbank which I’ve never had any success with.

    Keep up the good work!

Jared – Well I am never exactly sure of how much gravity is the best, but usually I choose products that do have a positive amount of gravity (maybe 25+), but they also have to have decent search numbers around the niche. I also, of course, look at the product and make sure I think it’s worth promoting (sometimes I get a free review copy, otherwise I’ll research without actually reading the product itself). If I can’t find an exact keyword domain, I forget about promoting that product. Although I created my sites a few months ago and since Mayday some people are saying that exact match keyword domains matter less.
