Human Rewriter Review – Outsourcing Article Rewrites
Posted in Reviews on 17. Aug, 2009
I’ve been meaning to write about some of the jobs I outsource for a while now, so I thought I’d start with Human Rewriter. Before I begin, please note that all these links are my affiliate links. If you find the review useful, I’d be grateful if you could sign up through my link. But you may want to read the whole review first, as I have a few mixed feelings.
You might have heard of Human Rewriter before – it’s an article rewriting service powered by human writers (no spinning through computers, which just results in terrible articles). The people that write for them are supposedly all native English speakers and writers (to find out why I say ‘supposedly’, keep reading). All you need to do is give them your original article, and they will rewrite it sentence by sentence, making it unique and sending it back to you for a low price.
What I Use Human Rewriter For
I have used Human Rewriter for a few of my own projects. Sometimes I will need rewritten versions of articles I’ve already written, such as the articles I submit through Unique Article Wizard, and more recently I’ve sent some of my Hubpages articles to be rewritten to then submit through Infobarrels. A lot of people will use this for plagiarism and submit other people’s articles to be rewritten (see below), but I use my own original articles. I am a writer myself, but I have recently stopped offering rewriting as a service as I honestly find it too boring. This is a great alternative.
The Great Things About Human Rewriter
There are loads of great things about the Human Rewriter service, and here are my thoughts:
Article Quality: I do have some issues with this (see below), but 99% of my articles have been good quality. If they aren’t, you can simply reject individual sentences to be rewritten again.
Their Website: This is possibly the best feature of Human Rewriter. You don’t have to communicate by email, all the payment and article deliveries are handled through their unique interface. It is also what allows rewrites to be split into sentences to ensure unique results, and easy editing if necessary (if you don’t understand, sign up for free and see).
The Price: The price is great – around $3 or a little more for 400-450 words to be rewritten. It is $0.15 per sentence, so it depends on how many words you have in each sentence.
You can even get a $5 free trial by request when you sign up!
The Support: When I’ve had to email them with any problem they’ve been extremely prompt and very polite in their reply.
The Bad Things About Human Rewriter
Yes, there are some bad points. They don’t outweigh all the good points for me, but they could for some people.
Turnaround: Turnaround was actually one of the best points about Human Rewriter, but unfortunately they’ve had a few problems lately. It was 24 hours, which they then raised to 36. However, they are now experiencing delays and my last article took one week. Their latest message says they are getting back to normal now – I assume they had to hire new writers to keep up with demand.
Quality: Yes, I put this in the good points, but it’s also bad. However, it isn’t really a problem. Only on about two occasions did I suspect a writer wasn’t native English, and I just asked for a few sentences to be rewritten which they did very quickly.
Plagiarism: I think a lot of people are using this to plagiarise. I know a lot of people online ‘rewrite’ other peoples articles, and it’s not quite the same as ‘rewriting’ someone’s book – but I still believe it’s plagiarism. When writing an article, I’d say it’s best to take inspiration from a few articles rather than hiring someone to rewrite somebody else’s article sentence by sentence. After all, the end result will mean the exact same thing, in the exact same order – and that is plagiarism even if people online deny that. BUT this is a whole separate issue…
All in all I really recommend Human Rewriter. It has a great interface and good quality results.

This is great. I’ve done the ‘spin’ and generally sucks. I also appreciate your bad points as well as the good. Nice post!

Thanks – I tried to review them as honestly as possible
I will definitely continue to use them though.I should also add they gave me $20 worth of articles free when my articles were last delayed!

Thanks for the review. I have reverted to doing my own writing again in a bid to cut down my outgoings and keep my quality up. However this service looks interesting.
Hope you are well.

I am in a similar position to you. However, I still have around $40 of credit at Human Rewriter which will be nice to use when the time comes
I’m thinking of using it for writing some Infobarrels, which will be a future project.
Another Bad Point would be that their word spins aren’t that great, sometimes they’ll choose a word that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense with the rest of the sentence. They don’t do a lot of phrase spins which is sometimes easier to do than trying to figure out a single word replacement in most cases. I think their rewrites are great but their word spins could use some improvement. I expect a human to know when it’s appropriate to choose a single word to spin or if it’ll be better to spin a phrase instead. Other than that it’s a good service. My rating is a 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for leaving your comment and addition to the review. I have also found at times they use an odd word. It’s like they just use a random word from a thesaurus. I agree that rewriting the whole phrase is often best. I usually make a few small changes before accepting the article.
