Setting A Passive Income Goal To Go Travelling

As you know, motivation is always a problem when you work for yourself. Some days are fab and you just get everything done and more. But others… somehow clicking around Facebook all day seems more appealing that writing! So I’m trying to really motivate myself with my next big life goal – to go travelling for an extended period of time (how long it is will depend on how things go).

So yesterday I sat down and really did some calculations about how much I want to spend while I’m away travelling (hint: I am going to be a budget traveller!), and how much money I’ll need to achieve that. Ideally I won’t be working too much – though I will work- while I’m away, so I need to set my sights on passive income (otherwise it’ll probably take me years to save up in advance!)

This post isn’t actually going to go into exact figures about how much I earn or how much I want to earn, it’s more about the general concept of coming up with concrete goals. Read more »

My Goals And Plans For March

As I said in my last post, I’ve been finding it hard to focus lately, so I thought that writing a post about my goals for March would help to keep things on track. Read more »

Thoughts About Life And Internet Marketing

As you know, I’ve had a hard time keeping up lately. I went to Barbados near the end of January, got back a week into February, and went for a week up in the North of England (still working a little) four days later. Despite leaving me feeling overwhelmed, the time away did give me a lot of time to think about what I want from my business.

Things Become Clearer When You Step Back

The truth is that it sometimes takes a while of stepping back from everything, not working on your business, to see things more clearly. The last time I did this was around August 2010, when I was moving home and not exactly the most relaxed ever. Going on holiday was exactly what I needed. I planned everything in advance so I wouldn’t have to work when I was there. But I couldn’t help but spend a lot of time reflecting on things. Read more »

Looking Back On One Year Of Writing And Selling PLR Articles

It’s time for some proper content again at Web Career Girl! I’ve been slacking off for too long, and there’s no better way to get back into it than to look back on the first year of my PLR business: Net PLR.

It’s surprising, really, that the only post I’ve written so far on the subject was back in September – Selling PLR Articles for Passive Income – My Experience So Far (this post explains what PLR actually is if you aren’t sure) – especially since I’ve learnt so much in the year that I’ve been creating and selling PLR content. I guess that PLR wasn’t the initial focus of this blog, and I’ve never included it in my earnings reports. But if it works to make me money, and I’m enjoying it, then I think I should be writing about it more often! Read more »

What I’ve Been Up To For The Last Few Weeks

This isn’t related to working online, but I thought I’d post a few pics of what I’ve been up to! I’m not a great photographer, but I hope they give you an idea of what I’ve been doing.

For the end of January and beginning of Feb I was in Barbados (though I did a bit of island hopping for one day around the Grenadines!) and last week I went up to the North of England to visit family and try to get a bit of work done at the same time (in between visiting lakes and mountains!). Needless to say I’ve gotten quite behind on everything, catching up with people and so on. So here are some pictures to keep you busy while I get caught up ;) (None of me I’m afraid, I’m camera shy!)
