I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes I put off small tasks that I know just need to be done. So, for example, you all know I’ve been writing a lot of content for my niche blogs. I don’t write all of this directly into the blog – I have the posts all in Word files and then eventually post them up. The plus side is I have all my content saved and organised, the downside is I sometimes never get around to actually posting it.
Like I said before, leaving my blog posts on my hard drive is like leaving money on the table. So today I posted them up to three of my blogs (and found images to accompany them) as well as going through a few older posts to presell affiliate products where necessary. Just a sentence or two saying the best product I found to solve x problem is the affiliate product I’m promoting.
On top of that I also wrote ten blog posts and set up a new site for them. It’s not completely new, it’s a domain I had sitting. In the process I also realised I have a few domains sitting (maybe 5) so my plan is to develop them all at least a little before I move on. I want to do this as fast as possible since I think I really need to start pushing the marketing to get those earnings up.
No related posts.

Glad to see you are knocking some of these things out? I also put up a niche site today that I had a domain for from a while ago. I started second guessing whether I wanted to use that domain or not, but it’s just a waste of money if I don’t do something with it.

Mike – Yeah you never know which domain or piece of content you put out there that could end up making you money!
Looks like you need a VA. Get them do things you dread most and you work on things that you enjoy doing. You could be more productive in this way. I used to pile up my backlink building activities, when my VA came along and took care those mundane stuff for me, I can go about doing things I like should as researching and business building.

Tinman – You’re right. I did have someone working for me but just cancelled. I know having a VA is the way to go but unfortunately I just feel my business isn’t bringing in enough to justify it yet
So for now I’m gonna have to carry on forcing myself to do these jobs.
I would be interested in your process in the use of software when you draft your post and articles.
I see you mentioned Word, is that your main tool of choose? Then copy and paste?
Just interested, not prying, OK, will maybe a little.
Cough it up, tell me your secrets….
Please & Thank You

Steve – No problem asking that question at all! Yeah basically I just use Word to store them, and have individual folders on my computer for each blog so I can store the blog posts just in case anything happens. I do copy and paste directly from word to the blog post, but only in the “HTML” rather than visual view so I don’t get all the funky code that Word can produce in WordPress. I usually have documents that include batches of 5-10 blog posts that I work on all at once. Before I write them, I also store info from my research in those Word docs.
5 to 10 post per Word doc. That is an interesting concept.
I usually work on a single post per doc file and then the keywords and references are on Notepad.
I put Notepad in one screen and Word in the other.
The idea of multiple post on a single doc file is something I will try. Could be real interesting if the post relate with each other.
Thanks for the response Ruth…

I know a lot of people hate using Word when it comes to blogging full stop, but it just helps keep me organised.
Preachin’ to the quire luv, preachin’ to the quire. LOL
At this very moment there are 622 drafts in my blog with 1-5+ added DAILY from idea I get. EEK!
Granted very few are actually done ready to be posted, but I feel your pain.

As for your drafts – WOW you have so many ideas!!
I asked because sometimes when I do posts like these, it’s simply to update those currently reading everything, ya know?
It’s funny, whenever I read a “writers block” article i try to think of ways to sell them. LOL

Awesome to see you are trying these things
. I think it’s the time (for me) to wake up and take out my old domains from dustbin
and start using them.
Thanks !! Have a great day.

You go girl!
Do you have a particular marketing strategy in mind to get these ranked in Google or are you approaching this from a viral and social media standpoint?
Twitter: webcareergirl
says:
Alex – If I could do the whole viral thing I would, but no I am rubbish at that. So yeah I use stuff like article marketing, answering yahoo answers and leaving my link if relevant, blog commenting, forum profile links… lots of different things. Try to keep it varied so the links work better.
Oh yes, I can really relate to this. I have a few of my own loose ends to deal with – such as needing to put content in my pages on my blog. I created the Tabs and made it look pretty, but there’s very little content in it. I also need to get my act together and setup my newsletter.

The little things can add up to a big thing. I have a few of these loose ends also to do. I just need to make a list and knock them off.
