Today I’m starting a new niche blog. This blog is going to be based on the principles of the Niche Blogger – in that it will contain a lot of content about my niche subject, and will be marketed using a number of different methods.
Different to My Past Efforts
I’ve made efforts in the past to create niche blogs, and they’ve only brought in small amounts of cash. This one is different for two reasons:
- I’m working on it alongside my eBook writing challenge, so eventually I’ll be selling my unique product from this blog.
- It’s a topic I’m passionate about. I’ll be writing a number of informative blog posts, all linked to the eBook, and start to build up my list even before my eBook is ready.
Getting Started
The first thing I need to do is some in-depth keyword research. Since I’m eventually going to be marketing a unique product, I’m going to be looking for literally hundreds of keywords. I’ll get those with a high search volume/ low competition to use on the blog posts – but I’ll also be using a variety of long tail keywords to market the eBook in future. For my keyword research, I’m using Micro Niche Finder.
Participating In A New Challenge
Despite the fact that I’m doing my own personal eBook writing challenge in November, I’ve also signed up to a blog flipping challenge as a long term project. This is run by Tom over at Stand Out Blogger. This new niche blog and product fits in nicely with this challenge, and it will also help to keep me accountable.
Learning New Skills
I do think this challenge will help me to develop new skills. I’ve never tried to sell my own eBook, so I’m excited to learn. I’m also going to focus on building a list of future buyers with Aweber straight away – something that I’ve always been bad at in the past. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out – but I know it’s going to require some hard work!

Awesome stuff… I just started a 30 day niche blog with the intent to sell at the end of the month.
Its actually hard work sticking to a plan.
I can also see in your sidebar that you are doing awesome on the writing challenge.

Argh I wonder if I’ve ever stuck to a plan? I always write my plans here every month, and they’ve changed by the end of it. But as long as we’re always moving forward I guess it’s ok
Good luck with your blog flip! And yes the eBook writing is going well so far
