Last week was week two of my productivity challenge where I decided to write 5 PLR articles every day until the end of November (excluding weekeds).
Current Status On My Challenge
So it’s the first day of the third week today, which means I should have had 55 articles completed at the end of today. As it stands, right now I have 49 articles completed and I’ve already done 5 today. This is because I fell short by 6 articles last week. Unlike the week before, I didn’t make up for it at the weekend.
I’m not too upset about missing my target. Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s important that I stick to my goals otherwise I’ll just get lazy and give up on the whole thing. So I am planning to make up for it this week by doing an extra article a day. But the important thing is that I had a great week last week – I was feeling productive and really happy about my business. Plus I took time to relax at the weekend.
On top of this, I’m also feeling really positive about my PLR business as a whole. I made record non-WSO related sales over the last few days and got some great feedback that made me smile! Definitely a good way to motivate me in this challenge.
What I Did Besides My PLR
I did actually get some work done on top of my PLR. I added 10 Christmas-related HubPages. About 4 of them I wrote, and 6 I had someone rewrite from my own PLR articles. It takes a bit of time adding them up and formatting them correctly with my affiliate links, but obviously outsourcing a few did help.
Now I need to figure out what to do about my Hubs. I am really wary of backlinking them too much, so I’m going to do some Ezine Articles and see how they do. A few are obviously more popular than others as they’re getting search traffic already, so I’ll start with those to see if I can give them a boost.
This Week
This week will be more of the same. I’m going to try and get those Ezine Articles done for my Hubs ASAP since I obviously need to get them ranking a little before Christmas! I know I don’t have time to go all-out this Christmas, but I am hoping for at least some extra sales.
I’m looking forward to releasing more PLR packs too!

I am following your example and trying to focus on one thing at a time. Too much shiny stuff getting in the way though!

Ruth,
I consider it a success that you are even setting a plan and keeping track of your progress. That is more than 95% of the people achieve.
I need to make a plan and follow it as you have done here.

JG – I definitely recommend it. I wouldn’t be able to push myself like this every month but these little “challenges” really do help me get focused.
congo rats on your progress thus far, glad to see you’re not only being productive but happy as well. Besides who wants to force themselves to work at something they don’t enjoy. Ofcourse in IM sometimes you just have to force yourself to do things (like backlining eeewwww) but all in all, I enjoy hearing about your contest Ruth.
P.S. I’m glad to hear the PLR isn’t giving up without a fight

Hi Ruth
glad to hear you’re still being productive again this week, and making time to add Hub pages to the mix – very impressive. It does make you happy doesn’t it when you get the tasks done and out of the way. Congrats on the increased non-WSO income too.

Hey Ruth, you di awesome! Maybe you should drop your weekly goal to 50 and allow for a bit of other work like you did.
You have to adjust goals and strike the balance.

Forest – Yeah I think adjusting is a good idea. I’m still behind so I’ll have to see where I am by the end of the week.
Congrats, Ruth. Sounds like you had a real good week last week plus took the weekend to relax. That is perfect. Keep it up. Sounds like you are hitting on all cylinders.
