There are a lot of things I have to work out when it comes to building a web career. One of those things is putting my name out there.
Many people who work online or offline have blogs, Facebook accounts, Twitter accounts etc. under their names. But some people choose to separate the personal from the professional. That’s why I decided to start this blog, so that I could write about the issues affecting me as I earn money online.
I’m not sure whether to keep things I do online for enjoyment private and separate, or to merge them together. It’s not that I am hiding who I am – more keeping the work-related stuff in one place and the personal in another.
It’s something I’m still trying to figure out. I know there are people who have many, many separate accounts online but I just don’t know how I would manage them all, let alone if I want to have so many. But I definitely think it’s a good idea to keep the purely personal away from the professional.
If you have any tips I would love to hear them! I’ll keep posting as things become clearer to me.
